Biography

André Huysamen is a multi-talented singer from Cape Town, South Africa, who proudly chooses Goodwood over Hollywood. A seasoned professional with more than two decades in the local music industry, he has released three albums and multiple singles, consistently delivering live performances filled with flair, charm and unmistakable showmanship. And of course, no André Huysamen concert is complete without a touch of his signature five-octave magic—earning him the nickname of South Africa’s very own Mika early in his career.

A celebrated artist, Huysamen has been recognised by the ATKV for his contribution to arts and culture, performed for a former president at the Union Buildings in Pretoria, and shared the stage with Tiaan Grundling at FNB Stadium in Johannesburg before a crowd of nearly 70,000. In 2014, he also received a nomination for Newcomer of the Year at the Bok Radio Music Awards. After taking an extended break from releasing new music, André made a powerful return with “Vat My Saam,” a collaboration with Tiaan Grundling. The pop-rock anthem soared to number two on the South African iTunes chart, proving that his best was still to come. This was followed by a string of popular releases, including “Rooiwynlippe,” “Ek Sal Wag Vir Jou” featuring Richii, and “Son, See & Soen.” His latest release, “Run,” a heartfelt and stirring rendition of a Snow Patrol classic featuring global songbird Nianell, is currently making waves across streaming platforms.
